What is a peer-reviewed article?

Instructors will often ask you to use a peer-reviewed article from a scholarly journal. This is an article that has been read and reviewed by other experts in the same field before being published in a scholarly journal. With multiple layers of fact-checking and validation, these articles will be your most reliable source of information about new research.

Please note:  a book review is not a research article, even if they are published in the same peer-reviewed journal.

Subject-Specific Library Databases

Our library databases contain a mix of books, journals, articles, videos, and other resources typically focused around a specific field of study. We offer a more extensive collection of databases in our A-to-Z List, but the list below has been curated to reflect the subject of this guide.

Once you pick a database, use their built-in search and filtering functions to look for your topic and narrow your results.
